This Sunday, February 28, Acadiana Spiritual Association hosts Sharing Circle: Divination Techniques, 3pm at the downtown Lafayette Library. Individuals will review and discuss various divination techniques, share best-practices advice, and meet new friends.
Beginning in 1997, Sharing Circle is a monthly symposium on the anthropological, sociological, psychological, and philosophical study of specific topics in various tribal/indigenous, classical polythiestic, neopagan, and intrapersonal spiritualities. Originally, Sharing Circle covered specific topics in specific religions with a presenter, akin to a workshop. Today, Sharing Circle is much more discussion based. Participants focus on one question per gathering and share their experiences and perspectives with others. The experience is both challenging and informational. Many participants state that they are asked to evaluate their beliefs logically and to entertain ideas you may not have considered before.
Inspired by Jarred James Breaux’s recent article, The Accuracy of Divination, participants will be discussing the nature of divination, the spectrum of divination types, and various divination techniques, specifically tarot, I-ching, dowsing, pendulums, scrying, runes, numerology, and ogham.
There are many different divination techniques which line a spectrum of divination types, from those which rely heavily on chance and those which rely on intuition.
