The Acadiana Spiritual Association is run democratically by two independent branches. Both administrative and legislative branches are elected directly by the membership annually at the fourth-quarter general assembly meeting. The Board of Directors carries out the administrative tasks of the organization and is dependent upon permission to act from the Community Council. The Community Council carries out the legislative tasks of the organization and is dependent upon proposals from the Board of Directors. This balance of power ensures that no single individual nor organization can abuse power or mishandle funds; both the Board of Directors and the Community Council are responsible to the members of the organization.
